The Amateurs’ Astronomical Observatory at Panaji 5th Floor, (Junta House) is managed through the NGO, Association of Friends of Astronomy (AFA). The entry is free and the viewing timings are 19.00 Hrs. to 21.00 Hrs. on weekdays during the months of November to May. Regular lectures, seminars and outreach programmes are organized by the observatory.

The Amateurs’ Astronomical Observatory at Goa Vidya Prasarak Mandal (GVM), Ponda, is established on 18th December, 2004 with state-of-the-art equipments. The Observatory has excellent supporting infrastructure such as an air conditioned seminar room called ‘Antaral’, housing a library of books on Astronomy, other audio visual aids including Computer, CCD camera, eyepieces, different kind of filters and turbo films. Latest addition to this is the installation of Astronomical Dome for Star Gazing. Viewing timings are from 19.00 hrs. to 20.00 hrs. on three days in a week (MON-WED-FRI).

The Amateurs’ Astronomical Observatory at Vidyut Bhavan (Power House), Aquem, Margao established on 14th November, 2004 and is managed through the Margao Chapter of the Association of Friends of Astronomy (Goa). The entry is free and it is open only on Saturdays and Sundays from 19.00 hrs. to 21.00 hrs. during the months of November to May. Astronomical models are displayed at the Observatory and night sky observation programmers are conducted throughout Goa during fair season.
